Salt

The movie Salt starring Angelina Jolie kept my brain constantly working throughout the entire movie, which I loved. In this film the audience is constantly trying to figure out if the main character (Salt) is on the good side or bad side and who she really is. In this movie there are very many great fight scenes and I think Angelina Jolie did a fantastic job at the role of Salt. So finally overall I am giving Salt a 4/5 because it keeps the audience going throughout the whole movie and is good but it is still not an amazing film.

Dinner for Schmucks

This comedy starring Steve Carrell was absolutely hilarious. For one am a huge fan of Steve Carrell and think he is very funny. His role in this movie was perfect for him (not saying he is an idiot he just always plays them very well). Although the plot was kind of silly and not very realistic the characters that were in the film were perfect for it. I am giving Dinner for Schmucks a 4/5 for the fact that the Steve Carrell and the whole cast was super funny but the plot was lacking realism and not very good.

Shutter Island

Shutter Island definitely has to be one of my all-time favorite movies. Its bone chilling plot and twists are just stunning. While watching this movie I felt like a detective as one tries to figure out the mysteries of Shutter Island. Throughout the whole movie there are subtle clues and many scenes that send shivers up your spine and make your whole body get goose bumps. I really did love this movie and found it stunning how entertaining a movie can be the whole time. Overall I am giving Shutter Island a very well deserved 5/5 for how amazing its plot is and for its greatness.

Battle: Las Angeles

Battle: LA is definitely a man’s movie it has action and gun violence in almost every single scene. This movie takes place is LA and our world is being invaded by aliens so it’s up to our army to save us from the invasion. Sounds like every boys dream to be fighting off wave after wave of opposing aliens. Although this movie was definitely much better in theatres with its big screen and very loud speakers it felt like one was in the battle. Although at home it is still entertaining it is just not as good. So overall I am giving Battle: LA a 4/5 for its epic manliness and awesome fighting scenes.

Warrior

This true story of two brothers who end up fighting in the UFC blew me away with how great it was. This movie desperately made me want to have a brother that I could fight with and have a good time with. Warrior had everything and do I mean everything first it had awesome fights and training scenes. It also had a wonderful plot in following the stories of both the brothers. Finally a wonderful cast that really played the role very well. Overall I am giving Warrior a 5/5 because although at the end it turns to a tear jerker it leaves people smiling after watching it.

Kick-Ass

Just as this title says this movie is amazingly “Kick-Ass”. I was impressed on how entertaining this movie was. After hearing from a friend how good it was I hurried to watch it and was very impressed. With action throughout the whole movie there were stunning characters and awesome fights. Also the plot had twists that kept the movie entertaining throughout the whole time. One thing that disappointed me is in the trailer they make the movie look as if it would be an action comedy but there were only a few funny parts. So overall I am giving Kick-Ass a 4/5 for its awesome fights and action.

Horrible Bosses

This comedy about three men trying to kill their bosses is definitely one of my favorite comedies of 2011. With a crazy plot and epically funny cast I was laughing throughout the whole movie while still being entertained by its creative plot. I do have to admit one of the best things from the movie was Jennifer Aniston as a very hot dentist. Who drove away from her normal characters and became this very funny sexy boss. Overall I am giving Horrible Bosses a 5/5 because of how hilarious this movie is I definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a good laugh.

Bridesmaids

After hearing many comments on how Bridesmaids was the new Hangover for girls and guys I figured I would check it out. From a male perspective I find the movie not very funny at all, although my whole family of girls seemed to love it. As I kept watching I was waiting for the funny plot to come up but there never was one and it was easily predictable. I am giving Bridesmaids a 2/5 and the two is just for the fact that out of all the girls that I have asked about it they say they loved it. So bottom line if you’re a girl go see it for boys though I would definitely say don’t.

Hangover part II

Hangover part II was highly anticipated after its first movie launch in 2009. When I went to see this movie I had very high hopes for it but was greatly let down. I went to the movie theatre to watch it and quickly realized it was a waste of an 8 dollar ticket. It felt as if I paid to go to the same movie as the first one. The plot and characters were completely the same the only thing that changed was the location and the person that they were trying to find. Overall I would say just watch the first one it is much better and has the same story line. I am giving Hangover part II a 3/5 because even though the plot was the same the actors were still pretty funny.

30 minutes or less

This comedy starring Jesse Eisenberg and Aziz Ansari was probably one of my least favorite comedies of 2011. This was for the main fact that the two funny parts of the movie had already been shown in the trailer. Also the whole plot and story was completely predictable and I knew the whole movie by just seeing the trailer. Another thing is the fact that Jesse Eisenberg thinks he can star in comedy movies I think he should just stick to his serious movies such as the Social Network. Although the one thing I did like about the movie was Aziz Ansari who can always make me laugh no matter what. Overall I am giving 30 minutes or less a 2/5
